Team Ambition VS ACH & Michael Elgin

Another HUGE match from AAW Day Of Defiance in Chicago a few weeks ago.  This match was faced pace throughout and really did a great job of showcasing all four of these incredibly talented wrestlers while still utilizing a lot of team work. This is a match to seek out for some of the great spots alone.  The dynamics of the teams with the strength of Elgin and speed of ACH combating the vicious mean streak of Team Ambition really worked well and this match just worked.  Four of the best on the indies currently, how could you go wrong?

Archibald Peck challenges Eddie Kingston for the Chikara Grand Championship

Back with another THIS IS AWESOME! blog post featuring Chikara Action from Tag World Grand Prix in Chicago a few weeks ago.

I was particularly excited for this match because I'm unashamed to say that Im a pretty huge fan of everything Archie.  This was probably my favorite match of the weekend (which says A LOT after that AAW show).  The story telling was just flawless and and a VERY pro-Archibald Peck crowd made this one pretty high drama at the end.  The ending of this one had the entire crowd in grips as Archie hit consecutive DDTs followed by no less than three spinning backfists to Kingston.  It looked like Peck had the Grand Championship well within reach until Kingston was able to hit Peck with a spinning backfist while Peck was attempting a springboard hit after being distracted by a SECOND ARCHIE IN THE BALCONY!! With the backfist the place goes black and Kingston stands alone in the ring.

I know this event just got put out by Smart Mark video, buy it and WATCH THIS MATCH.  Its great.

Chikara Tag World Grand Prix: The Colony VS Los Ice Creams

A few weeks ago I was also lucky enough to shoot Chikara's Tag World Grand Prix, while in Chicago.  Chikara put on an incredibly all ages show that had something for literally every kind of wrestling fan.  The crowd for this event was near perfect, with everyone having a great time and coming up with inventive chants.

This weeks blog showcases the first round match up between The Colony and Los Ice Creams.  This match was a blast to watch from start to finish.  Los Ice Creams may be the wildest tag team I've seen yet, and their antics are pretty hilarious.  The Colony pulled out the win in the end.  Stay tuned for a LOT more Chikara events in the upcoming weeks.

I've also got a couple shows lined up in June, so look for more new content soon!

Samuray Del Sol VS Silas Young

Based off recent rumors Samuray Del Sol has signed a developmental contract with the E.  I was fortunate enough to shoot what may end up being one of his last indie wrestling matches.  The contrast of styles between wrestlers in this match was really interesting.  "The Last Real Man" Silas Young is a power house and wastes little movement or effort on anything that doesn't brutally punish his opponent.  Meanwhile, the high flying nature of Del Sol quickens the pace making it difficult for the opposition to get a good handle on him.  This was a really great match that came down to the wire, with a lot of great action.  After many taunting "LUCHA!" taunts while wrenching different body part, Young was able to force Del Sol to tap.

Shane Hollister vs. "The Death Machine" Sami Callihan (last man standing at AAW Day of Defiance)

This past weekend I was incredibly fortunate to be able to take in a few phenomenal days of wrestling in Chicago.  Friday night AAW took over the Berwyn Eagles Club for a brutal night of fantastic pro wrestling.  I'll be posting my highlights of each match in the coming weeks (along with CHIKARA photos from Saturdays double header event).

The main event saw Sami Callihan take his Death Machine moniker to the limit against Shane Hollister.  This match was a war, not in the sense where they just bled all over the place, but in a way that made you cringe at some of the things these two men put each others bodies through.  I would highly recommend seeking out the DVD of this event when AAW puts it out.  The whole card was amazing but this match is worth the price alone.

Current 3XW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Slade

Reigning and defending 3XW Heavyweight Champion Ryan Slade has had a rocky run with the gold as the villainous Jeremy Wyatt and his gang of thugs seem hellbent on regaining the belt Slade took off his waist.  Ryan Slade is a fan favorite and can always be seen connecting with people before, after, and during the shows.  He fights hard for the right thing and stands by his allies.
